नेपाली सांगीतिक क्षेत्रका नक्षत्र, लोकगायक एबंम संगीतकार राम थापा को बिहिबार बिहान २:३० बजे काठामाण्डौ को नर्भिक अस्पतालमा उपचारका क्रममा निधन भएको छ। गायक थापा को आजै पशुपति आर्यघाटमा अन्तेष्टि गरिने छ। वि.सं.२०१५ साल भाद्र २ गतेका दिन काठमाडौँ जिल्लाको कमलपोखरीमा बुबा हस्तबहादुर थापा र आमा हिराकुमारी थापाको सुपुत्रका रुपमा राम थापाले जन्म लिएका थिए ।

कक्षा ५ देखिनै उनले गायन सुरु गरेका हुन् भने उनले टोलकै केही ठूला दाइहरुसँग मिलेर गीतार बजाउन सिकेका हुन् ।
उनले सम्पूर्ण ध्यान सङ्गीतमा लगाउदै भएपनि उनले १४ वर्षको कलिलो उमेरमै २०२९ सालमा युवक मा.वि.,पकनाजोलबाट एसएलसी पास गरेका हुन् ।

२०३१ सालमा उनले रेडियो नेपालबाट स्वर परीक्षा पास गरेका हुन् । स्वर परीक्षा पास गरेपछि आफ्नै सङ्गीतमा- हाई हाई वनकाली माई बोलको गीत रेकर्ड गराएका थिए । गायिका तारा थापासँग रेडियो नेपालमा गाएको पहिलो गीत वनकाली माई चर्चित गीतको लहरमा परेपछि उनका लागि रेडियो नेपालको यात्रा सहज बन्दै गएको थियो ।

राम थापाको सङ्गीत रहेको ऋतुहरुमा तिमी हरियाली वसन्त हौ २००२ मा बि.बि.सी.लण्डनले गरेको सर्वेक्षणमा संसारकै १० उत्कृष्ट गीतहरुमध्ये सातौँ स्थानमा परेर सम्पूर्ण नेपाली सङ्गीतकर्मीका साथै नेपालीहरुको पनि इज्जत बढाएको छ ।

So far he has published 10 cartoon art books, 1 novel, won 22 national and international awards, had 17 exhibitions, sculpted 28 statues, painted more than 2,000 oil/acrylic paintings, wrote about 3,200 articles, and created more than 11,000 political cartoons.
