अमेरिकामा एनआरएन दर्ता

नेपाली गैर आबासिय संघ ( एन आर एन ) को अमेरिकामा बिगतमा नेप्लिज अमेरिकाज काउन्सिल ( न्याक) ले संयोजन गर्दै आएकोमा यसै हप्ताबाट Nepalese Americas Council (NAC) लाई नै नाम परिवर्तन गरि NRN National Coordination Council of USA (NRNNCC of USA ) बनाईएको छ . न्याकले एन आर एनको अमेरिकाको प्रतिनिधित्व २००३ देखि नै गर्दै आएको भएता पनि अमेरिकामा एन आर एन को उपस्थिति प्रभावकारी रुपमा हुन सकिरहेको थिएन .

न्याक/एन आर एन काउन्सिल अमेरिकाका अध्यक्ष सुमन तिम्सिनाले जारी गर्नु भएको प्रेस बिज्ञप्तिमा जनाइए अनुसार न्याकले बिगत देखि नै एन आर एनको समन्वय तथा प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दै आएकोले अमेरिकाबासी गैर आवाशीय नेपालीहरुको निकट सम्पर्कमा रहेर काम गर्न सजिलो र सहयोग होस भन्ने उदेश्यले उदेश्यले एन आर एन अमेरिकाको आधिकारिक दर्ता गरिएको हो .

सन् १९९१ मा स्थापना भएको न्याकले आफ्ना घोषित नीति तथा कार्यक्रम यथावत नै राखी आगामी दिनमा एन आर एनको नाममा काम गर्नेछ . न्याकमा क्यानडा तथा अमेरिकमा रहेका बिभिन्न ३२ वटा नेपाली संघ-संस्थाहरु सदस्य रहेका छन् . प्रेस बिज्ञप्तिमा उल्लेख भए अनुसार एन आर एनले पनि सदस्य संस्थाहरुसंगको सम्बन्धलाई बिगतमा झैं समन्वय सहकार्य र बिस्तार गर्दै लैजाने छ .

एन आर एनको स्वतन्त्र उपस्थितिका सम्बन्धमा बिगत देखि नै प्रयास हुँदै आएको थियो . यसै बिच न्याकले सन् २००९ मा बिभिन्न राज्यहरुमा सम्पन्न गरेका करिव १ दर्जन टाउन हल मिटिङ्गहरुमा प्राप्त सुझाबको आधार तथा बर्तमान न्याक कार्य समितीको सर्वसम्मत निर्णयद्वारा न्याकलाई एन आर एनमा रुपान्तर्ण गर्ने निर्णय गरेको पनि अध्यक्ष तिम्सिनाले बताउनु भएको छ .

एन आर एनका आगामी गतिबिधि तथा संगठनात्मक संरचना लगायतका बिषयमा विद्यमान बिधानको समिक्षा गर्दै नयाँ बिधान तयार गर्नका लागि एक बिधान मस्यौदा समिति गठन गरिएको पनि प्रेस बिज्ञप्तिमा उल्लेख छ . बिज्ञप्तिमा बिधान समितिमा अध्यक्ष डा प्रल्हाद पन्त तथा सदस्यहरुमा डा अम्बिका प्रासाद अधिकारी, डा तारा निरौला,मुकेश सिंह,बिद्या रञ्‍जित, बिष्णु थापा,डा गिरिजा गौतम,डा बिनोद शाह र डा राजेन्द्र कुमार श्रेष्ठ रहनु भएको उल्लेख छ . समितीले आगामी ६० दिन भित्रै नयाँ बिधान निर्माणको जिम्मेवारी पुरा गरिसक्नु पर्नेछ .

गैर आबासीय नेपालीहरुका लागि दोहोरो नागरिकताको व्यवस्था गर्नु पर्ने एन आर एनको मागलाई यथावत राख्दै हालै नेपाल सरकारले लागु गरेको गैर आवासीय नेपालीको लागि परिचय पत्र दिने व्यवस्थालाई पनि एन आर एनले आफ्नो आन्दोलनको सकारात्मक उपलब्धीका रुपमा लिएको पनि सो प्रेस बिज्ञप्तिमा उल्लेख छ .

Call For The INLS- Narayan – Jayanta Prasai Web Literary Journalism Award-2010

Dear Nepali Literary Web Journal editors /publishers in the Nepali Diaspora:

INLS invites entries for an annual INLS-Narayan-Jayanta Prasai Web Literary Journalism Award sponsored by Kamala Prasai, USA to promote the publication of online Literary Journals. INLS requests all web editors / publishers to submit your own publication along with ample information about the same for the INLS- Narayan – Jayanta Prasai Literary Journalism Award-2010 on or before February 24, 2010. The details of the award are outlined
below:

A. The Name of the award :
INLS- Narayan – Jayanta Prasai Literary Web Journalism Award.

B. The purpose of this award:

This is to encourage and promote Nepali Literary Web Journalism by honoring the online publication of literary journals .

C. Amount of he award: Cash $200.00 and a Certificate

D. Presentation of the award:

The award will be presented at the INLS Literary Festival program. This
award will be presented to the owner or the authorized representative of
the winning publication.

E. Award entry qualification criteria:

1. There is no application fee.

2. The publication must have been published online consistently for minimum of one calendar year. It must have valid Web address at the time of evaluation. The web publication must be publicly accessible and may have been utilized by any Web publishing technology.

3. The publication must have been published and managed from outside Nepal in the Diaspora.

4. Nepali Literary Web Journalism publication is defined as a web publication that includes any of the following forms of creative and non-fiction writings: poems, short stories, literary translation, essays, diaries, autobiography, biographies, creative letters, magazine writing, travel writing, book reviews, nature writing, science fiction writing, literary, cultural, art histories, journalism, literary news and views and the memoirs. The publication must cover most of these writings.

5. A nomination for award could be submitted by the editor or publisher or anyone authorized on behalf of the publication.

6. The publication should be focused on Nepali context in Nepali or English language.

7. A publication that is directly edited by a member of this award’s Judges cannot participate in the award.

F. Award Evaluation Criteria:

The publication will be evaluated using five generic online publication evaluation criteria – Accuracy, Reliability, Authority, Objectivity, Currency and Coverage.

G. The list of the documents or data to be submitted:

1. Name of the nominated Web Publication, duration of publication and brief overview of purpose, content and coverage of the publication.

2. Name of the owner: Chief Editor and/or Managing Director, Chief / President etc.

3. Postal Address of the owner.

4. Contact information such as mailing addresses, email address, phone and/or fax.

5. Hyper link to demonstrate that the publication was consistently published for an entire calendar year.

6.The nomination must be submitted within February 24, 2010 via email to: info@inls.org

7. If needs be, INLS – Award committee has the full authority to clarify or interpret or answer the queries.

ecember 31, 2009 (New York): A delegation of prominent NRN community leaders in New York area led by Dr. Binod Shah, Director-at-large for NRN Affairs of Nepalese Americas Council, handed over a memorandum to His Excellency Gyan Chandra Acharya, the Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations. The memorandum addressed to Rt. Honorable Subash Chandra Nemwang with copied to Rt. Honorable Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Honorable Nilambar Acharya, the Chairperson of the Constitution Committee and Honorable Binda Pande, Chairperson of Fundamental Rights Committee of the Constituent Assembly of Nepal, demands the inclusion of a provision for dual citizenship to NRNs living abroad in the new constitution of Nepal. Ambassador Acharya assured the NRN community delegation that the Nepal Mission would forward the copies of the memorandum to the concerned authorities in Nepal on the very day.

Highlighting the realities of increasingly globalized nature of nations and their interdependence on each other, the NRN leaders expressed that it was in the best interest of Nepal to offer every incentive to attract Nepalis residing abroad to Nepal. They further stressed that Nepali people no
matter where they live want to live as Nepali and the dual citizenship will offer that opportunity and valuable linkage and encourage NRNs to be part of Nepal’s development and progress. They also reminded that increasing number of countries around the globe have been offering dual citizenships to their nationals who are permanently living as citizens of other countries.

During the meeting, NRN community leaders also brought up number of local Nepali community issues and stressed that in some areas there were needs for the NRN community, Nepal missions and Embassies to work together to help Nepali communities in America become stronger. Ambassador Acharya assured the delegation that his office would provide any support to NRN communities within the Mission’s scope and limitations. Particularly, Ambassador Acharya expressed his willingness to work closely with local Nepali community organizations on number of issues.

The delegation also included prominent community leaders and scholars–Dr. Tara Niraula, Mr. Indra Tamang, Mr. Bansalal Tamang, Mr. Sonam Lama and Mr. Pemba Sherpa. Mr. Amrit Bahadur Rai, Minister Counsellor of the Permanent Mission was also present at the meeting.
