Dear INLS members and well-wishers,

International Nepali Literary Society (INLS: http://www.inls.org ) Headquarter in Washington DC is holding an election for its central Executive Committee for the term 2010-2012.

INLS HQ Election Commission calls for nomination to following positions:

A. President

B. Senior Vice President

C. Regional Vice President – Northern America and Latin America

D. Regional Vice President – Asia

E. Regional Vice President – Europe

F. Regional Vice President – Oceania and Africa

G. General Secretary

H. Secretary

I. Treasurer

1. Nomination: All qualified candidacy should be filed between May 16 and June 5, 2010 by sending out an email to inlshqelection2010@gmail.com along with your name, current position within INLS network, address, email address, position sought for, your profile and a two page description of why one should vote for you. Please describe how you would like to lead and contribute to INLS’s mission. In addition, you must spe! cify in your writing that you have read, agree to and abide by INLS mission, vision, objectives, by-laws, policies and code of conduct. Details can be found on INLS Handbook and INLS HQ Election Guideline located in INLS website. Your description could be in Nepali or English language. A qualified individual could file nomination by himself/herself or anyone can file nomination on their behalf but two INLS life or trustee members must support for candidacy.

2. Nomination fee: Each candidate must submit nomination filling fee to inls hq treasurer. Fee for position of INLS HQ President is $100.00 and rest of the positions is $50. Fee can be paid via paypal on inls.org.

3. Candidacy should be filed as per INLS bylaws. Minimum qualifications are outlined at the end of this message. Please refer to INLS website http://www.inls.org for the bylaws and mission for details.

4. The Election Commission has established the following timeline for the election:

May 16 – Call for Nomi! nation
June 5 – Nomination filing deadline
June 10 – Nomination verification and withdrawal deadline
June 12 – Election commission announces final candidates
June 13 – Voter verification and preliminary voter list publication deadline (campaign starts)
June 25 – Last day to become voting member
June 28 – Final voter list publication (election starts)
June 28 – July 10 – voting period
July 11 – Election result announcement

5. July 18 – INLS 19th General Assembly Meeting/Bhanu Jayanti – New HQ board takes charge

6. Elected EC officers will nominate other members and make plan for 2010-2012 then present to INLS General Assembly meeting in Bhanu Jayanti on July for approval of Present EC, BOT, Election committee and whole assembly.

VII-2 -2 Minimum Qualification*

Minimum Qualification for each official will be as follows:

1. President

a. President will be someone who has served in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one successful term.

b. One shall not be running for the position of the president for more than two consecutive terms.

2. Senior Vice President

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

3. Regional Vice President – Northern America and Latin America

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

4. Regional Vice President – Asia

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

5. Regional Vice President – Europe

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

6. Regional Vice President – Oceania and Africa

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

7. General Secretary

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

8. Secretary

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.

9. Treasurer

will be someone who has served at least one term in INLS headquarter or the elected official of the Chapter Executive Board for at least one term.
