Today’s guest is Mr.Nicholas Hirshon.

We are talking in the periphery of his new book “Images of America -Forest Hills”

Nicholas Hirshon, who grew up in Forest Hills, is a journalism professor at St. John’s University and a former reporter for the New York Daily News.  His writing has also been featured in the New York Times, Hockey News, Montreal Gazette and St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Hirshon graduated fromNicholas gradua St. John’s in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism. He then attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in Manhattan, graduating with a Master’s degree in newspaper journalism in 2008. He published his first Images of America book, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, in 2010, and he also contributed the foreword to Flushing: Then and Now.

Ray Romano, a favorite son of Forest Hills, recalls in the foreword how the neighborhood impacted his path to the Emmy Award-winning series “Everybody Loves Raymond.” “
